Our Mission

Our mission is to encourage, support, and grow the community of believers within the penal system by providing resources for personal development, spiritual growth and effective evangelism.

Our Beliefs

The Word of God

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit; and it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31-32, 20:31; Acts 20:32

The Trinity

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; that these are equal in every divine perfection; and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.

Gen. 1:1, 26; John 1:1, 3, 4:24; Matt. 28:19; Rom. 1:19-20; Eph. 4:5- 6

God the Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ, the Son.

Luke 10:21-22; Matt. 23:9; John 3:16, 6:27; Rom. 1:7; 1 Tim. 1:1-2, 2:5-6; 1 Peter 1:3; Rev. 1:6

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.

Matt. 1:18-25, 20:28; Luke 1:26-38; John 1:1, 20:28, 30-31; Rom. 5:6-8, 6:9-10, 8:32, 9:5; 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Peter 2:21-23; Eph. 1:4; Acts 1:11; Heb. 7:25, 9:28; 1 Tim. 3:16

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide.

John 14:16-17, 26, 15:26-27, 16:5-15; Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 3:16, 6:19; Gal. 5:22-26

Man

We believe God made man—male and female—in His own image as the crown of creation that man might have fellowship with him. Tempted by Satan, man rebelled against God. Being estranged from his Maker, yet responsible to Him, he became subject to divine wrath, inwardly depraved, and utterly incapable of returning to God apart from a special work of grace. This depravity is radical and pervasive. It extends to his mind, will, and affections. Unregenerate man lives under the dominion of sin and Satan. He is at enmity with God, hostile toward God, and hateful of God. Fallen, sinful people, whatever their character or attainments, are lost and without hope apart from salvation in Christ.

Gen. 1:26-27, 2:7, 3:1-24, 9:6; James 3:9; Rom. 3:10-18, 23, 5:12-19, 6: 23, 8:7-8; Eph. 2:1-3

Salvation

We believe salvation is the free gift of God, provided by grace alone, through faith alone, because of Christ alone, for the glory of God alone. Anyone turning from sin in repentance and looking to Christ and His substitutionary death is declared righteous by God and receives the gift of eternal life. The righteousness of Christ is imputed to him. He is justified and fully accepted by God. Through Christ’s atonement for sin an individual is reconciled to God the Father and becomes His child. The believer is forgiven the debt of his sin and via the miracle of regeneration, liberated from the law of sin and death into the freedom of God’s Spirit.

Eph. 2:8-9; John 1:13, 3:16; Rom. 3:24, 4:3, 5:1-2, 9, 8:1, 10:9-10; 1 Peter 2:24; Phil. 3:9; 2 Cor. 5:17

The Church

We believe in the universal church; a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head, and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ; baptized and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon its members the primary task of giving the living gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost world.

Eph. 2:19-22, 5:19-21; Acts 1:8, 2:42; Heb. 10:23-25

Marriage and Sexuality

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are united in holy matrimony. We believe that outside of marriage any form of sexual activity is sinful and offensive to God.

Gen. 1:26-27, 2:18-25; 1 Cor. 6:9-10, 18, 7:2-5; Matt. 15:18-20; Heb. 13:4

Sanctity of Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and in every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.
